Martin E Freeman - Miss Martie
May 23, 1946 - September 10, 2025
We met at the Folsom Street Fair, both manning the Visual Aid table.
Martie made me laugh and that was an instant connection for us.
A very Talented artist and I often felt he also was tortured soul.
His humor and colorful outfits and crazy art expressed his longing for joy and happiness ,
was his mask of the pain from childhood and his teenage years.
For decades we met up weekly for coffee and chat. Martin would always end up talking about himself and his love of Broadway Musicals, some of his stories I knew better than he.
A big thank you to Joel Hoyer for sticking with Martin thru the good and bad years,
He never gave up on him / them.
To our little butterfly, be free, now no more pain and always, always be you!
until we meet again...
